Las Vegas Dentist Serving Summerlin, Henderson and Nearby Areas of Nevada

If you’re suffering from what appear to be chronic tension headaches that have no apparent environmental or lifestyle cause, dentistry might hold the solution. Las Vegas area residents looking for relief from these headaches should arrange a consultation at Drs. Bryson and Margio Dentistry  immediately.

You might be suffering from temporomandibular joint disorder, or TMJ, a condition caused by the irritation of your jaw joint. If you’re like hundreds of thousands of Americans, problems with this joint are causing you needless suffering.

You don’t have to resign yourself to these headaches. Our Las Vegas dentists are trained in neuromuscular dentistry, a specialty area devoted in part to the treatment of TMJ. We can diagnose your condition and advise you on how best to achieve relief.

If you’re a Las Vegas, Nevada resident hoping that dentistry can solve your chronic TMJ headaches, please call Drs. Bryson and Margio Dentistry  today at 702-445-7075.

What is TMJ?

Your body is a complex, inter-connected network, and the area around your jaw is particularly crowded. Bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves come together in the area to ensure the smooth operation of your jaw.

If you place your fingers beside your ears and open and close your mouth you can feel your temporomandibular joint. It connects your jaw to your skull. And because of the way everything in the area is connected, when that joint becomes irritated, problems cascade throughout your body.

Symptoms include:

  • Headaches
  • Jaw aches
  • Clicking jaw
  • Facial pain
  • Shoulder pain

This is obviously not an exhaustive list of potential TMJ symptoms.

Cause of TMJ and Treatment

One of the most frequent TMJ questions we receive is, “What’s causing this?” While each individual patient is unique, the fundamental cause of this condition is a mis-aligned bite. When your jaw isn’t properly aligned, either as a result of tooth grinding or simply natural bad luck, it places added stress on your temporomandibular joint.

Dentistry offers a range of solutions to TMJ, and the right choice for you will be determined in close consultation with our dentists. Treatment options include:

  • Custom-made mouth guards
  • Braces (either conventional or invisible)
  • Oral surgery in extreme cases

Dr. Randy Bryson and Dr. Toni Margio are both graduates of the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, where they extensively studied neuromuscular dentistry. They are uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat your TMJ.
